Five Kaizen Clients En Route to NHL Rookie Camps

For Immediate Release -

Penticton, BC (Canada) - Kaizen Sports & Entertainment Ltd. is proud to announce that five players have been invited to attend National Hockey League Rookie Camps.

NHL Rookie Camps take place across North America in different venues with varying formats. It is a chance for both drafted and undrafted players to put their talents on display in front of team executives and scouts.

Five Kaizen Sports clients will showcase their work this week.

Jagger Dirk, 25, is what most would consider a textbook late bloomer. Dirk completed a stellar four-year campaign with the St. Francis Xavier (U-Sport hockey), finishing as Atlantic University Sports' (AUS) top defenseman and second in the nation. Dirk finished last season with the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL) before signing with the Utica Comets of the AHL this summer. Jagger is considered very sound defensively, with a strong ability to contribute offensively.

Shane Farkas, 19, is a free agent rookie camp invite for the Calgary Flames. Shane is expected to assume the starting role for the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL this season. Last year, Shane posted very impressive numbers as Portland's backup in the second half. Farkas posted a 941 SAV% between January and March and collected ten (10) wins and one (1) loss and was rewarded with the WHL Goaltender of the Week on March 5th.

Zach Fischer, 21, was drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2017 and is coming to camp to prove he can earn an NHL contract. Fischer, who split last season between the Medicine Hat Tigers and Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL), is sure to catch they eye of the Flames brass with his tenacity and willingness to engage in all areas of the rink.

Reese Johnson, 20, has successfully battled his way through injury in his junior career to earn an invite to the New York Rangers Rookie Camp. Johnson will serve as the Red Deer Rebels Captain in the 2018-19 season and is well-prepared to leave an impression at camp that he is ready to play professionally next season. Reese will bring speed and skill to the New York Rangers in the Traverse City Tournament.

Evan Polei, 22, returns for his second rookie camp with the Edmonton Oilers. Polei, who had a stellar camp last season, is back to prove he belongs in the American Hockey League, full-time, again this season. With an NHL contract on his mind, Polei will be sure to bring a hard, heavy and skilled game to Oilers camp. Last season, Polei finished with 9 points in 30 games for the Condors.
