Kaizen Sports Expands into Scandinavia

Penticton, BC (Canada) - Kaizen Sports Agency is pleased to announce that it has joined forces with EuroEdge Sports to expand its reach and footprint into Scandinavia.

EuroEdge Sports, founded in 2017, has become one of the fastest growing and most respected hockey agencies in the Swedish and Finnish markets.

Mikko Aho (Finland) and Pontus Larson (Sweden), founders of EuroEdge Sports, will now be doing business in Europe together, as Kaizen Sports Agency, effective immediately. EuroEdge Sports clients will begin onboarding with Kaizen Sports in the coming weeks.

Mikko Aho is a 28-year-old former hockey player from Finland. After his career, he founded EuroEdge Sports in 2017 with the belief he could better serve the European market both on the amateur and professional side. He is currently studying Sports/Coaching Management in Vierumäki, Finland.

”It is great to be a part of NHLPA Certified Agency like Kaizen,” said Aho. “After the first meeting I had with Michael and Tomas, it was clear that we both shared the same values and ideas as to how we can offer players the best service available anywhere. I am looking forward to working together as one group and to expanding Kaizen’s operation in Europe. Together, we will help players to take the next steps in their careers.”

Pontus Larson is a 49-year-old former hockey player from Karlstad, Sweden.

In 2014 Pontus began advising local players in furthering their athletic and academic goals. He met Mikko in 2017 and they have been the driving force behind EuroEdge Sports ever since.

"It is great to be part of an NHLPA-Certified Agency like Kaizen," said Larson. “I am excited to work as one with Kaizen Sports and to build on the platform of their exceptional reputation in North America.”

Mikko and Pontus' day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing Kaizen's European brand growth and identity as well as recruiting and serving our professional and amateur clientèle.

“This collaboration made sense on a number of levels,” said Managing Director Michael O’Rafferty. “We’ve long wanted to expand our footprint in Europe and we couldn’t be more pleased to have Mikko and Pontus lead the way. There is great opportunity in our working in unison and our joining forces will help alleviate the pressure and culture shock that comes for players who cross the Atlantic as they chase the dream. We will be there to bridge the gap between North America and Europe, both ways.”
