FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Penticton, BC – December 8, 2025 – Kaizen Sports Agency is proud to congratulate five of its clients who have been named to national team selection camps ahead of the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship. Representing Canada, the United States, and Germany, these athletes continue to set the standard in their age group — combining precision, consistency, and competitive edge at every level of the game.
Team Canada:
Carter Bear (2006) – A dynamic forward for the Everett Silvertips (WHL), Carter was selected 13th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 NHL Draft. He recorded 82 points (40 goals, 42 assists) in 56 games last season and enters this year as a leader on and off the ice. With over 35 goals in reach, Bear remains one of the WHL’s most complete offensive threats.
Ethan MacKenzie (2006) – One of the WHL’s top-scoring defencemen, Ethan is in the midst of a breakout year with the Edmonton Oil Kings. Draft-eligible in 2026 and recently committed to the University of North Dakota, he blends offensive vision with physical, disciplined defensive play — making him one of Canada’s most well-rounded blueliners.
Joshua Ravensbergen (2006) – A first-round pick of the San Jose Sharks in the 2025 NHL Draft, Joshua continues to cement his place as one of Canada’s premier goaltending prospects. With a .921 save percentage for the Prince George Cougars, he brings stability and confidence to every crease he steps into.
Team USA:
AJ Spellacy (2005) – Drafted in the third round by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2024, AJ brings size, pace, and purpose to the Windsor Spitfires (OHL). With 15 points in 25 games and a pro contract in place, he’s expected to make the jump to the NHL next season. For now, he’s focused on helping Team USA return to gold.
Team Germany:
Maximilian Brunner (2006) – Developed in partnership with Win-Win Sports in Mannheim, Germany, Maximilian currently plays for the Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL). He’s adjusted seamlessly to the North American game and continues to build momentum heading into the international stage. A versatile forward with strong hockey sense, Brunner will be a key piece for Germany.
“Representing your country at the World Juniors is one of the greatest honours in hockey,” said Michael O’Rafferty, Senior Managing Director of Kaizen Sports Agency. “Carter, Ethan, AJ, Josh, and Maxi have all earned this moment through their dedication, resilience, and pursuit of continuous improvement. We know the work isn’t done, but this recognition is a meaningful step. We’re incredibly proud to stand beside them.”
These selections reflect Kaizen’s continued investment in elite performance, character-driven development, and the long-term vision of each athlete’s career — from their first contract to the international stage and beyond.
